The core aims of the pilot fund are:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"7fu63\">To enhance, protect and conserve attributes of Outstanding Universal Value in\u00a0<b>World Heritage Properties<\/b><\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"314tf\">To enhance, protect and conserve attributes of potential Outstanding Universal Value in\u00a0<b>World Heritage Tentative List Sites<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"ac4j7\">The Pilot World Heritage Strategic Investment Fund supports a range of initiatives to conserve, maintain, protect and promote archaeological and built heritage within World Heritage Properties and Tentative List Sites in Ireland. The awards granted as part of this pilot fund include:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"fjkak\"><b>\u20ac125,000<\/b>\u00a0for the\u00a0<b>Transatlantic Cable Ensemble<\/b>, Valentia, Co. Kerry<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"9ejlp\"><b>\u20ac87,000<\/b>\u00a0for\u00a0<b>The<\/b>\u00a0<b>Royal Sites of Ireland<\/b><\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"c57m\"><b>\u20ac22,000<\/b>\u00a0for\u00a0<b>The<\/b>\u00a0<b>Passage Tomb Landscape of Sligo<\/b><\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"4gpfb\"><b>\u20ac3,500<\/b>\u00a0for\u00a0<b>Br\u00fa na B\u00f3inne, Co. Meath<\/b><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"bia6l\">Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne, TD, said:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<blockquote class=\"gi-blockquote gi-mb-9\">\r\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\r\n<p data-block-key=\"ufg2i\">\u201cThe award of these grants recognises the important work carried out by the custodians of these internationally significant structures and will assist in their ongoing protection and presentation.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div><\/blockquote>\r\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\r\n<p data-block-key=\"fddd9\">Speaking today, Minister of State O\u2019Sullivan said:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<blockquote class=\"gi-blockquote gi-mb-9\">\r\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\r\n<p data-block-key=\"ufg2i\">\u201cThis new initiative not only preserves our rich heritage, but also delivers on actions within the recently launched Strategy for World Heritage in Ireland 2025-2035 to empower local communities.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"ufg2i\">\u201cThis pilot fund helps to improve the interpretation and presentation of structures, enhance accessibility, and enable the protection and conservation of structures in need of urgent support, including building resilience to withstand the effects of climate change.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"ufg2i\">\u201cI wish all of the award recipients, including the many spearheaded by local communities, the best of luck in rolling out their projects.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div><\/blockquote>\r\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\r\n<h3 data-block-key=\"ufg2i\">Further Information<\/h3>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"9h4mq\"><b>The World Heritage Strategic Investment Fund has two streams:<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"1fru6\"><b>Stream A:<\/b>\u00a0grants of up to \u20ac25,000 to improve access infrastructure, interpretation projects and the presentation of structures (including virtually and\/or online).<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"35s3p\"><b>Stream B:<\/b>\u00a0grants of up to \u20ac100,000 for the protection and conservation of structures including essential repairs, conservation advice, the preparation of a Conservation Management Plan and detailed specifications of works.+<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"4gps8\">World Heritage sites can apply for funding under both streams up to a total amount of \u20ac125,000.<\/p>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"92m2l\"><b>To be eligible, structures must be:<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"brnvm\">included in the Record of Monuments and Places (RMP) under the National Monuments Act 1930 (as amended); or<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"9un49\">identified in the Sites and Monuments Record; or<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"4411m\">included in the Record of Protected Structures (RPS) of each Local Authority; or<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"7gpvl\">eligible for or proposed for inclusion in the RPS but not yet formally approved for inclusion; or,<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"81ljl\">within Architectural Conservation Areas<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"bef9c\"><b>In addition, eligible structures must meet one or more of the following qualifying conditions:<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"2058g\">they are included within the proposed boundaries of a site on the Tentative List as potential attributes of OUV*;<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"fkkos\">they are included within the boundaries of an Irish World Heritage Property as attributes of Outstanding Universal Value.<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"fjduo\">they are included within a proposed or actual buffer zone around a World Heritage Property or Tentative List Site and are considered as protecting or contributing to the Outstanding Universal Value.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"npv1\">Structures in the ownership\/custodianship of the Minister or of the OPW are not included in the scheme.<\/p>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"c8sni\"><b>Ireland\u2019s World Heritage Properties:<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"b6ii0\">Br\u00fa na B\u00f3inne inscribed on the World Heritage list in 1993<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"5784e\">Sceilg Mhich\u00edl inscribed on the World Heritage list in 1996<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p data-block-key=\"bm018\"><b>Ireland\u2019s Tentative List of World Heritage Properties:<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"aubh6\">The Passage Tomb Landscape of County Sligo<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"cka33\">Transatlantic Cable Ensemble: Valentia, County Kerry-Heart\u2019s Content, Newfoundland and Labrador (a serial transnational nomination with Canada)<\/li>\r\n \t<li data-block-key=\"109o8\">The Royal Sites of Ireland: D\u00fan Ailinne, County Kildare;
