Launch of the Sceilg Mhichíl Climate Vulnerability Assessment Report
The National Monuments Service and the Office of Public Works are organising the launch of the Sceilg Mhichíl Climate Vulnerability Assessment (CVA) Report on 12 November 2025 from 7-8.30pm in the Royal Valentia Hotel, Co. Kerry.
The CVA Report details the known and potential impacts of climate change on Sceilg Mhichíl and priority measures to protect the island’s heritage for the future. Sceilg Mhichíl was one of ten sites selected for the initial ICOMOS-National Geographic Preserving Legacies Project and the production of the CVA Report is a deliverable of this project and the site’s management plan. The aim of the project is to equip communities worldwide with the tools to accurately anticipate and assess worsening and future climate impacts on culture, and help them turn that scientific knowledge into action to safeguard sites.
All are welcome to attend the launch.
